IN 1990 – There were eight sparrows for every garden. – In The Year 2000 – Only Four ! – “Then In The Year 2010 – ‘DEAD’ 90% !”

Then likely reasons were car pollution emissions killing off the insects on which sparrows feed their offspring in the first crucial days after they hatch.
Bad peanuts sold at discount stores.

Help House Sparrows: Patches of weeds unmown grass to attract seeds insects. Feed sunflower seeds fruit millet.
‘Moist soft well chopped up very small chicken sausage fatty meat or bacon.’

They Need: To raise their family under ‘our’ house eaves. Stop blocking them up.
Avoid: Chemicals-sprays pellets killing soft-bodied bugs that House Sparrows and chicks eat.

Have: Some really dense bushes scrubs for Sparrows to forage roost and hide in from predators.

    I’m amazed with what I’ve learnt from this site and the truth is always so hard to take – FOR ANYONE OF US -TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT it!
