Plump and lively running up and down tree trunks.
Nuthatch – Only British Songbird to descend head down-wards.
‘Habit of wedging nuts into crevices then hammering them open.’
Seldom far from trees and woodland.
Nest – Uses mud to smear around tree hole or nest box entrance to make the entrance smaller for them.
“Amiable glorious tuneful minute little Nuthatch – Lively running up down and – Around tree trunks.” –

Present Day Numbers – ‘Unknown?’
George Orwell - ‘Man is the only creature that consumes without producing. He does not give milk, he does not lay eggs, he is too weak to pull the plough.
He cannot run fast enough to catch rabbits. Yet he is lord of all the animals.’
The aim of this website is to make a wider range of people aware of the dwindling numbers of Songbirds due to ‘predation’ – Killing -
From more aggressive dominant birds animals – ‘Predators Scavengers.’ And – Mankind –
“Songbirds such as larks blackbirds linnets finches thrushes pipits wrens redstarts tits warblers wagtails skylarks woodlarks are just some of over a hundred different species that were once a beautiful part of nature.“
- Adding to nature’s and our own wonderful soundscape.
1954: “The RSPB placed protection on the sparrowhawk. Tragically showing alarming denial for the last 40 years! Forever evading the truth of this hawks outright killing on sparrow and garden songbird numbers ever since.”
2011: Nuthatch - “Unknown just how well ( or not ) their numbers are doing…!”
Alice Walker - “The Animals of the planet are in desperate peril – Without free animal life I believe we will lose the spiritual equivalent of oxygen.”
‘Elsewhere in many civilized countries the limited sensitive culling of particular predators is regarded as an act of ‘conservation.’
‘Rather than in the eyes of the RSPB an intolerable outrage.’ Restoring a balance of species though population control has thus been made unthinkable despite the fact that – ‘It would be sound conservational practice to do so.’
“If, we are to help songbirds survive let alone increase their numbers society must wake up to the fact that predators need to be controlled. When – Bird protections continue to ignore the huge increase of top of the bird ladder-birds of prey raptors (hawks).”
In fact the RSPB actively encouraged and engineered the protection of birds of prey! Which are just that, they prey upon killing other birds and mammals. When the obvious is so patiently clear this does nothing to enhance the RSPB.
“Predation ‘killing’ is tragically a major problem for Songbirds in Britain. Throughout the world. Predators such as crows, magpies, falcons, sparrow-hawks, grey-squirrel infestation –”
All hawks cats jays herring-gulls red-kites owls woodpeckers rats fox; Etc. -
‘The list seems endless from photographic proof.’
