Exquisite slim little – Linnet Finches.
Males gloriously marked powder blue head crimson forehead and chest.
Chestnut mantle streaking white throat and underparts.
Resonant rich sonorous singing twittering as they fly.
‘Nest a cup of grass moss twigs lined with hair wool.’
Once ‘we’ used as cage birds because of their heavenly melodious song.
Help Linnets: Small seeds-dandelion oil-rape especially summer insects.
Piteously – ‘Threatened endangered British species.’
Yes extermination. From the human race – Our ‘folly’ and the RSPB?…
Morosely – Linnet Yet ‘another’ On damn this —- ‘Red List’! Death.
‘It’s illegal in Britain to knowingly disturb nesting Songbirds so its best to keep away from nests in the breeding season.’
Even if the adult in not sitting do not attempt a close look as your presence may well alert predators to the existence of the nest.
There is a real risk that the Garden Songbird will desert the nest if you disturb it and if there are young in the nest on the point of fledging -
There’s a greater risk they may flee which could endanger their survival. “Always only watch a nest – Only if you have to.” From a safe distance!
And keep its location a secret from others – Not everyone sadly has the best interests of wild birds at heart.
“Tragically for our decimated Songbirds – Egg collectors are rife and Sickly still very active.”
‘Few survive their first winter.’ Predation – Predators such as cats, magpies, sparrow-hawks, grey-squirrel infestation. All hawks, crows, jays, herring gulls, falcons, red kites, owls, woodpeckers, rats, fox. Etc. The list seems endless from photographic proof.
“Only those species unable to adapt cope or compete need our help our money and – ‘Protection.”
Linnet – YES TRULY – Heart-breaking on this Red ‘Dyeing out List’ – Red Death!
Write to the Patron of the RSPB the Queen: State that since 1954! It’s long overdue – “To take legal protection for raptors ‘Sparrow Hawks’ off the RSPB List” -
“To start ‘saving’ Sparrows and Songbirds thats what their members have paid RSPB to do. Isn’t it? Before they have ALL been killed off by Predation!”
Linnet – Exquisite grey head crimson forehead chest chestnut mantle streaking white throat underparts” – Extermination DEAD – Red…!
